The West Meck Hawks football team is having an historic season. Most Friday afternoons you will find me at The Harvest Center in Charlotte hanging out with one of the most talented and inspiring high school football teams on the East Coast. As we plant the Empowered Living Church (The ELC) we intentionally volunteer in the community where we can make an impact in the education of our youth.
With intent I say the East Coast, because my high school Alma mater, the Nathaniel Narbonne Gauchos, in the Los Angeles area are undefeated (9-0) as of October 31. Last year my high school won the California 5A football championship and it appears they will have a good chance to defend their title this year. Check out the Gauchos by clicking HERE.
Fridays are dedicated to celebrating the tenacity, courage, and commitment to excellence of approximately 50 boys and a dozen coaches from West Meck. We gather in the comforts of The Harvest Center to hear an inspirational word from a local leader, dine on a meal prepared in love, and prepare a team of future champions to go, fight, and win.
Going into the last week of the regular season West Meck is situated to make a deep run into the Charlotte area playoffs. It is exciting to see a team, school, and community come together to celebrate hard work.
